We are looking for someone who can keep up with the ever-evolving Internet by producing top quality content for the millions of students, parents and educators who visit and utilize Scholarships.com each month. The ideal candidate will use their education, experience, and creativity to help produce and publish valuable content to further augment and enhance the tens of thousands of pages that are Scholarships.com.
Position Details
As a Content Writer and Copywriter for Scholarships.com, your goal will be to write SEO-friendly content as well as technical writing across multiple websites. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who has a passion for writing, branding, and marketing/public relations.
Qualifications
- 1-4 years of relevant experience
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated business writing skills (web pages, articles, blogs, press releases, SEO writing, emails, etc.)
- Knowledge of AP style guides
- Appreciation for and application of branding and naming
- PR experience is a plus
What you will be doing
- Write blog articles and headlines that drive clicks/engage the reader
- Research and develop content for students, parents and educators
- Edit and proof-read copy for proper grammar, spelling and sentence structure
- Execute acquisition strategies based on traffic and trends, meeting and exceeding projected quarterly goals.
- Create press releases and outreach for high schools and colleges/universities
- Perform copywriting tasks as assigned
Core Competencies
- Exceptional writing skills; creative, original, contemporary communicator and overall model employee.
- An understanding of how to employ and maintain a consistent style and voice.
- An interest in and strong understanding of website usability, content management and search engine optimization.
- Able to organize and manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
Nice to Haves
- Aptitude for/experience with HTML, CSS and any other front-end web development experience/skill.
- Computer superusers (more than) welcome. Ability to quickly understand and hack all things computer/web.
- Experience and/or familiarity with SEO/Analytics tools such as Google Analytics,
- Graphic creation and manipulation using Adobe Photoshop or similar graphic software.
