The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), is a unique education and workforce development opportunity for aspiring leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Applicants must be pursuing a STEM degree in an approved SMART STEM discipline, willing to complete summer internships at a Department of Defense (DoD) lab or research facility, and willing to accept post-graduation civilian employment with the DoD.
Scholarship Details
- SMART Scholarships are available for students with college credit, while the Dellums SMART Scholarship is designed for students with no prior college credit.
- Recipients may receive full tuition, annual stipends, health and book allowances, and internships at DoD facilities.
- The program supports degrees in one of SMART’s 24 STEM disciplines, including Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and more.
Eligibility Criteria
