The Maestro Cares Foundation Scholarship provides financial support to academically talented undergraduate students in the United States (including Puerto Rico). We seek individuals with significant financial need, who despite personal or social setbacks, have a compelling desire to pursue a higher education.
Scholarship Details
- Scholarship amount: Up to $4,000 per semester (up to $8,000 per academic year)
- Awards are paid directly to the university
- Renewable for each year of an undergraduate degree
- Scholarship recipients must meet academic and community service commitments to remain eligible for renewal
Eligibility Criteria
- Demonstrated commitment to serving Hispanic/Latino communities
- Be between the ages of 17-24 at the time of the application deadline
- Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student at an accredited 4-year university in the United States (including Puerto Rico)
- Hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Demonstrate financial need
- Provide proof of involvement in community service or volunteer work
Application Process
- Complete the Maestro Cares Scholarship application
- Submit most recent university transcript (unofficial transcripts accepted) Write and submit three essays (300-650 words each) discussing your background, personal/academic goals, and financial need
- Provide proof of past/current community service (letters of recognition, photographs, record of hours served, or verification letter from the organization)
- Submit two letters of recommendation from academic or professional sources
- All materials must be submitted by May 25th
