This scholarship program was named in loving memory of Firstrust Bank Founder, Samuel A. Green, who was a staunch believer in encouraging young people to pursue their education and fulfill their dreams. In the spirit of his legacy, we are inspired to carry on our strong commitment toward helping students succeed.
Scholarship Details
- Awarded to students who demonstrate leadership and community impact
- Open to students planning full-time enrollment in accredited nonprofit colleges or universities
- Supports students from the Greater Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley areas
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a graduating high school senior or rising college freshman
- Must live in or attend school within the Greater Philadelphia or Lehigh Valley areas
- Must be a legal resident of the United States
- Must plan to attend full-time at an accredited nonprofit community college or four-year college or university
- Applicants who are age 30 or older will not be considered
- Must demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to community service
Application Process
- Prepare materials that highlight your leadership experience and community involvement
- Complete the scholarship application according to program guidelines
- Submit all required materials by the scholarship deadline
- Await notification regarding scholarship award decisions
The Green Family Foundation was established in 2005 by Samuel A. Green’s son and daughter-in-love, Daniel and Florence (“Flo”). Daniel was the Chairman and CEO of Firstrust Bank from 1970-2005 and Chairman Emeritus until his death in 2020. Richard J. Green, their son, serves as Trustee for the Foundation. The Green Family Foundation is dedicated to cultivating and investing in innovative and impactful solutions that foster inclusive and interconnected communities so that individuals and communities flourish and reach their full potential.
