Black Women in Science and Engineering (BWISE) proudly offers three scholarship opportunities to empower African American female students pursuing higher education in STEM and healthcare. These awards support high school seniors, current college students, and aspiring nurses in Dallas and Tarrant counties in Texas. Each scholarship is designed to recognize academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community and beyond.
Scholarship Details
- Three scholarship categories available:
- Traditional Scholarship for High School Seniors
- Traditional Scholarship for Current College Students
- Dr. Whitney Kirkpatrick Nursing Scholarship
- Award amounts to be determined
- Winners will be notified prior to public announcement
- All applicants must submit a resume, transcript, and a 1500-word (or less) essay
Eligibility Criteria
- African American female student
- Reside in Texas within Dallas or Tarrant counties
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Additional criteria by scholarship type:
- High School Senior Scholarship: Must be entering college or university in the fall
- College Student Scholarship: Must currently be enrolled in college
- Nursing Scholarship: Must be pursuing a degree in nursing
