Thanks to the collaboration between the AFCEA NOVA chapter and the AFCEA Educational Foundation, these opportunities are extended to individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their service.

Key Features of AFCEA Educational Foundation STEM Scholarships:

1. Financial Support: Merit-based scholarships of $2,500 are the hallmark of this initiative, providing crucial financial support to deserving individuals who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. military.

2. Eligible Recipients: The scholarships are open to: • Persons on active duty in the uniformed military services. • Honorably discharged U.S. military veterans, including Reservists and National Guard personnel, who deployed abroad in support of Overseas Contingency Operations.

3. Educational Pursuits: Recipients must be currently enrolled in undergraduate programs, either part-time or full-time, pursuing eligible STEM majors at accredited four-year colleges or universities in the United States.

4. Inclusive Learning Platforms: Distance learning or online programs affiliated with major U.S. institutions are also considered eligible, ensuring inclusivity for those navigating diverse educational pathways.

5. Usage of Scholarship Awards: Scholarship awards, though subject to availability of funding, are designed to alleviate the financial burdens of education. They are restricted to tuition and course-related expenses, covering fees, books, supplies, and equipment essential for the pursuit of STEM courses. Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Academic Status: Must be a U.S. citizen currently enrolled and attending a four-year accredited college or university as sophomores or juniors at the time of application. Freshmen and seniors are ineligible to apply.

2. Enrollment Status: Enrolled part-time or full-time in an eligible undergraduate degree program.

3. Academic Performance: Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0.

4. Majoring in C4I-Related Fields: Candidates must major in C4I-related fields aligned with the mission of AFCEA, including but not limited to astronomy, biometry/biometrics, computer science, cybersecurity, and telecommunications engineering.

5. Military Service: Served in Overseas Contingency Operations from 2003 to the present. Documentation such as DD214 or Certificate of Service verifying deployment is required.
