The USRA Distinguished Undergraduate Awards provide college scholarship awards to students who have shown a career interest in science or engineering with an emphasis on space research or space science education, and aeronautics-related sciences.
Scholarship Details
- Sponsored by the Universities Space Research Association (USRA)
- Up to five scholarships are awarded annually
- Each scholarship provides a one-time award of $5,000
- Scholarships recognize students pursuing careers in science, engineering, space research, space science education, and aeronautics-related fields
- Scholarships are awarded during the fall academic term
- Available memorial scholarships include the Thomas R. McGetchin, John R. Sevier, James B. Willett, Frederick A. Tarantino, and Judith L. Pipher Memorial Scholarship Awards
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university
- Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in science, engineering, life sciences, science education, or a related field
- Must be within two years of earning a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree when the scholarship is awarded
- Must demonstrate an interest in science or engineering with an emphasis on space research, space science education, or aeronautics-related sciences
- Must satisfy all application requirements established by USRA
Application Process
- Complete the Distinguished Undergraduate Awards application during the summer application period
- Prepare and submit all required supporting documentation
- Provide information demonstrating your academic achievements and career interests in science or engineering
- Submit the completed application before the published deadline
- Monitor communications regarding scholarship review and fall award announcements
USRA presents up to five scholarship awards to undergraduate students each fall as part of its Distinguished Undergraduate Award program. Students will be matched to the scholarship most appropriate for their area of study.
