The MI Future Educator Fellowship will offer $10,000 scholarship to up to 2,500 future educators every year. When a student receives this award, they agree to work in Michigan classrooms.
Scholarship Details
- Annual scholarship of $10,000 for future educators
- Supports up to 2,500 students each year
- Recipients agree to teach in Michigan upon certification
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a high school graduate
- Must be a Michigan resident
- Must be admitted into an eligible Educator Preparation Program in Michigan
- Must be enrolled full-time and working towards teacher certification
- Must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
Application Process
- Complete the MI Future Educator Fellowship application
- File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Sign the Commitment to Teach in Michigan Agreement
If a student does not meet the service obligation requirement and/or does not finish the teacher certification program, the fellowship converts to a 0% interest rate loan with a repayment term of 10 years. There is no deadline for the scholarship; students may apply year-round.
