The HOLA at Microsoft Scholarship is designed to support high school seniors of Hispanic and Latinx descent who are pursuing higher education and have a passion for technology and community leadership.
Scholarship Details
- This year, the program will award five scholarships totaling $55,000: two $20,000 scholarships over 4 years and three $5,000 one-time scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a US-based high school senior of Hispanic and Latinx descent.
- Planning to attend a two or four-year college or university in the US.
- Intending to pursue an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in fields like engineering, computer science, business management, or marketing.
- Should demonstrate leadership and a passion for helping the community.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Require financial assistance to attend college.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA recipient.
Application Process
- Apply between January 22 and March 13. Check the site in mid-January for more details.
- Submit a high school transcript and one letter of recommendation.
- Write a 1500-character essay on your plans to engage in the technology industry.
- Detail extracurricular activities, including school, community, and work-related activities.
