The University of Nebraska, together with the Peter Kiewit Foundation, will present Legacy Scholarships to female Nebraska high school seniors. These scholarships are made possible by the personal generosity of the late Peter Kiewit. Mr. Kiewit was a lifelong Omahan, civic leader and philanthropist. Scholars receive a $600 book stipend every semester toward their textbooks and supplies at the University Bookstore and $500 toward professional business attire. Additionally, students can receive up to $5000 in a professional development stipend that can be used for opportunities such as conferences, education abroad, internship travel expenses, etc.
Applicants must meet all of the following eligibility requirements:
• Be admitted to the College of Engineering in Lincoln (City Campus) or Omaha (Scott Campus)
• Be a Nebraska resident
• Submit the FAFSA or alternative need analysis form (alternative form linked in application) to be considered for the program
• Be traditional first-year incoming freshmen
• Demonstrate their interest and commitment to the advancement of women in the field of engineering
