Scholarship Description

The National Videogame Museum will award numerous different scholarships to students pursuing careers in gaming or technology-based fields. Applicants may apply for one or more scholarships but will only be awarded one scholarship total. The scholarships are non-renewable, single-term awards. To be eligible for the National Videogame Museum Scholarships, applicants must be a high school senior or current undergraduate, have a 3.0 GPA and be a natural-born or naturalized US citizen. It is very important to note that the scholarship money will be paid directly to the educational institution specifically for tuition.

Besides completing the application, applicants must also submit: proof of residency (such as a driver’s license or state-issued ID); one recommendation letter from a teacher (This letter should highlight any skills or experience related to technology, computer programming or videogame design the instructor may have first-hand knowledge of.); one recommendation letter from an unrelated community member (who can attest to the applicant’s community involvement); and a 500-750-word essay explaining their academic and professional goals and how the scholarship will help to achieve them.
