The Omega Phi Beta Foundation (OPBF) is a national philanthropic organization committed to providing leadership, academic, and community development opportunities through educational and grant-making initiatives. These initiatives support individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing women’s rights in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math). The Omega Phi Beta Foundation Rising Bud Scholarship is awarded to current high-school seniors pursuing a degree in the art fields listed below. Our goal is to help lower the financial burden of tuition and encourage girls to expand their creative abilities. Studies for consideration include Applied Arts (Creative Literature/Writing, Decorative Art, Design, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Industrial Design), Cinematic Arts (Animation, Audio/Sound, Film-Making), Performing Arts (Dance, Music, Step, Theater), Visual Arts (Animation, Architecture, Audio/Sound, Ceramics, Computer Art, Crafts, Design, Drawing, Filmmaking, Illustration, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Video, Visual Communications)
Applicant must currently be a female high-school senior who is interested in pursuit of an undergraduate degree at a college or university. Applicant must be from a low-income household earning a combined income that is less than
$45,000.00 a year and must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in one of the aforementioned fields.
The Board of Directors of Omega Phi Beta Foundation will review and consider all applicants. All General Scholarships are awarded for one year only and are non-renewable. Individual scholarship awards are for $500.00. Any student selected to receive a scholarship will be notified via e-mail.
