The Chicago Westside Branch of the NAACP is offering two $1000 scholarships to junior or senior high school students who have demonstrated a commitment to environmentalism through lifestyle, work, and/or volunteering and plan to major in an environmental field. One of the $1000 scholarships will be open to students specifically on the westside of Chicago, including suburbs, and the other $1000 scholarship will be open to students anywhere in Chicago, including the westside.
Please complete the application by 11:59 p.m. Saturday, December 10th. The winner will be announced at the CWB NAACP's Environmental Recap Summit on December 17th. The event is free, but attendance is mandatory to be eligible for this award. Awardees are required to participate in at least the January and February Environmental and Climate Justice Committee Meetings.
