BWISE (Black Women in Science and Engineering) is excited to announce three scholarship opportunities, empowering African American female students pursuing higher education.
1. Traditional Scholarship for High School Seniors:
Award Amount: To be determined
Eligibility:
• African American female high school senior entering college or university in Fall 2023.
• Reside in Texas within Dallas or Tarrant counties.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Application Requirements:
• Essay (1500 words or less): Reflect on your journey, aspirations, and the impact you aim to make in your chosen field.
• Copy of resume: Include extracurricular activities, volunteerism, work experience, leadership positions, etc.

2. Traditional Scholarship for Current College Students:
Award Amount: To be determined
Eligibility:
• African American female current college student.
• Reside in Texas within Dallas or Tarrant counties.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Application Requirements:
• Essay (1500 words or less): Share experiences and insights that highlight your potential as a future leader.
• Copy of resume: Include extracurricular activities, volunteerism, work experience, leadership positions, etc.
• Transcript.
3. Dr. Whitney Kirkpatrick Nursing Scholarship:
Award Amount: To be determined
Eligibility:
• Open to African American females pursuing nursing.
• Reside in Texas within Dallas or Tarrant counties.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Application Requirements:
• Essay (1500 words or less): Reflect on your commitment to nursing and the legacy of Dr. Whitney Kirkpatrick.
• Copy of resume: Include relevant experiences and achievements.
