  • EmPOWERED to Serve Scholars are students who have demonstrated their commitment to improve what are known as social determinants of health — the conditions in which people live and work that shape their health. The program is open to college freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are actively addressing social determinants of health like food insecurity, safe housing, job opportunities and access to health care.
