CSWE provides a number of funding opportunities for students and faculty members. The Carl A. Scott Memorial Fund was developed to continue the legacy of equity and social justice in social work through building knowledge and furthering the well-being of individuals and their communities. These were the goals to which Scott devoted his life's work. Two book scholarships in the amount of $500 each are awarded each academic year to students who demonstrate a commitment to work for racial, economic, and environmental justice in social work.
Applicants must be graduating with a social work degree from a bachelor or master’s degree program accredited by CSWE, have an expected graduation date no later than summer of the year the scholarship is offered, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, be enrolled full time during the period in which the grant is awarded, and have a demonstrated commitment to promoting equity and social justice. The scholarships are targeted to but not limited to minority/BIPOC individuals.
