If you are between the ages of 13 and 25 years old and live in the U.S. (or are a U.S. citizen, but living abroad), you are eligible for the opportunity to win any of the Do Something scholarships. We never require an essay, GPA or recommendation to apply. Just complete all the action steps on the campaign page to enter. Be sure to review our Scholarship Contest Official Rules before entering any contest. We offer the opportunity to win scholarships by completing our volunteer, social change, and civic action campaigns. Enter for the opportunity to win by doing community service.
Individual criteria, as well as dollar amounts and due dates, will vary by scholarship. For any scholarship, the process is as follows: sign up for a campaign; complete the campaign; and upload a photo to show you completed the campaign. Winners will be individually notified by email and will be required to respond to initial notification within 72 hours. Winners of each campaign will typically be announced to the public 3-4 weeks after the close of the campaign.
Scholarship money is sent directly to the school of your choice. It can only be used on costs incurred directly from a post-high school, higher education program, for example, community college, college, university, or trade school, that are listed on the itemized tuition bill. Basically, anything that your post-high school institution directly charges you for is eligible to be covered by your DoSomething.org scholarship. This includes tuition, classes, activity fees, room/board, etc. We cannot send scholarship money directly to a student.
