Scholarship Description

The BuildGirls Homelessness Challenge is a unique competition addressing the critical issue of homelessness through architectural, construction, and engineering solutions. It's an opportunity for young females in middle and high school to use creativity and innovation to design impactful housing solutions.

Scholarship Details

  • The competition focuses on using architecture and engineering to develop solutions to combat homelessness.
  • Participants are encouraged to present their designs in creative formats such as PowerPoint, Keynote, video, 3D models, Google sites, etc.
  • Criteria for judgment include economics, sustainability, community impact, aesthetics, innovation, achievability, and type of living situation.
  • The competition consists of three rounds over the school year, with eliminations in each round and three final winners.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to all females in middle and high school.
  • Participants must become a member of BuildGirls, which is free of charge.

Application Process

  1. First Round: January
  2. Second Round: March
  3. Final Round: May

  6. Achievability
