We believe a college education is crucial for success in the modern world and that it should be available to everyone. With the average annual cost of tuition at nearly $45,000, the kind of education Berea provides is out of reach for many, unless they want to take on an enormous amount of debt. We’re proud to say that more than half of recent Berea graduates had no debt at all, the other half owes a fraction of the national average for student debt. Berea College operates as rolling admissions; however, interested students are strongly encouraged to apply early and meet Early Action deadlines.
Students with strong academic potential and financial need are encouraged to apply. Admission to Berea College is academically competitive. We have a limited number of spaces in each year’s entering class, so we are looking for students who have demonstrated academic potential through coursework, grade point average, and ACT or SAT scores if provided. Most of our students score between 20 and 30 on the ACT (or SAT equivalent) and have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 in a strong college prep curriculum.
