HESAA, the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, is the only New Jersey state agency with the sole mission of providing students and families with financial and informational resources for students to pursue their education beyond high school. The Higher Education Student Assistance Authority provides many merit and need-based programs. Merit-based programs include the New Jersey Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship, while need-based programs include many awards, such as the Survivor Tuition Benefits Program.
The WTC scholarship benefits dependent children and surviving spouses of New Jersey residents who were killed or died as a result of injuries sustained by the terrorist attacks against the U.S. on September 11, 2001. The award also benefits the dependents of those who died as a result of illness caused by exposure to the attack sites. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, eligible non-citizens or eligible to file the NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application and be full-time undergraduate students. Award can be used at any Title IV-eligible college or university in NJ or out-of-state. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
