The University of Alabama understands that each student’s path to and through higher education is unique. The Capstone Center for Student Success is home to the First Generation Scholarship Programs that serve a diverse group of students across a wide range of academic, social, and economic backgrounds. Our First Generation Scholarship Programs are highly competitive and a limited number of scholarships awards are available each year.
The University of Alabama offers the Coca-Cola First-Generation Scholarship to first-generation, incoming freshmen. Eligible applicants must be residents of Alabama and have a 3.0 GPA. First consideration will be given to those with demonstrated financial need (for priority consideration, a student must submit the FAFSA by March 1 of the year in which they are planning to enroll). This is renewable for four years, provided that recipients maintain a 3.0 GPA in addition to a strong support structure. Dollar amounts will vary.
