The Bedford County Arts Council is dedicated to supporting all areas of the arts. The Arts Council will award a scholarship to a deserving high school senior each year in the amount of $1,000, in the areas of Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Music, Theatrical Arts, or Dance. Seniors from any high school in Bedford County, TN may apply.
Eligibility
- Current high school senior
- Significant experience and ability in the arts
- Proof of enrollment in post-secondary education required before funds are released
To Apply
All Applicants must include the following for their application to be considered.
- The online application form, completely filled out
- A résumé of artistic work, classes, and awards. Be sure to include the title of the work, your role in the work (if applicable), the date the work was completed, and what organization you were working with (if applicable).
- An essay of up to 750 words discussing what the arts have meant to you.
- One recommendation from a teacher or coach in the artistic area (Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Music, Theater, or Dance) for which you would like to be considered. The teacher or coach may use the form below or a recommendation letter, as preferred.
- Examples or a small portfolio demonstrating your best work. These examples may be digital pictures of art, examples of writing, or video/audio recordings.
