In 1987, members of the business community identified the need to provide homework assistance for low-performing students. Partnering with the school district and the Lake County Education Foundation the founders formed a 501(c)(3) called Dial-A-Teacher. In 1988 the name was changed from Dial-A-Teacher to the Education Foundation of Lake County, Inc. We are a member of the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations.
The Edmond Amateis Foundation has scholarship funds, in the amount of $1,500, available for local students with financial need, as determined by income eligibility guidelines as established by USDA for reduced lunch.
