Hi, my name is Rebecca and as a future nurse, I am passionate about providing compassionate and comprehensive care to individuals in need. I believe that nursing is not just a career, but a calling to serve others and make a positive impact on their lives. I have always been drawn to the healthcare field and have spent countless hours volunteering at local hospitals and clinics. Through these experiences, I have gained valuable knowledge and skills that have solidified my desire to become a nurse. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Baker University and have maintained a high 3.0 GPA. I am dedicated to continuing my education and obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing in order to become a pediatric nurse. I am grateful for the opportunity to apply for this nursing scholarship. Receiving this award would greatly alleviate the financial burden of my education and allow me to focus on my studies and clinical experiences. I am confident that with my dedication, passion, and commitment to the field of nursing, I will become a valuable asset to the healthcare community. Thank you for considering my application for this nursing scholarship.

Hi, my name is Sarah Pfeifer, I am currently 17 years old and a senior in high school. I am going into nursing, but I am unsure what school. I would really like to start my nursing career at the University of Alabama. However, out-of-state tuition is a lot of money. This scholarship would allow me to get some money from my tuition at Alabama and start my nursing career. I want to be a pediatric nurse. I have grown up with lots of cousins and all of them are younger than me. I love helping people, espically children. This scholarship will allow me to start my path to becoming a pediatric nurse!

Hi! I am applying for this scholarships for so many reasons, I am currently a 16 year old Junior in high school! And My dream of being a nurse has been in my mind since forever. This would help me achieve my dreams. Financially my mom has 5 kids, and it would be amazing if I could help take some weight off her shoulders. I would love to specialize in some way to help cancer patients as i’ve seen the struggles of it from family members. I would love to help new patients as I wish I could’ve with my family. Such as supporting them every step of the way and making them feel as comfortable as possible with their situation. I also know the heartbreak that occurs with these losses, it would be an honor to also help grieve with the families. Becoming a nurse would also be my mothers dream as she wished of becoming one but pregnancy didn’t allow that to happen and i would love to follow her dreams and make her proud. But especially to make myself proud, this is a long life dream and it would be a blessing to revive such a scholarship like this one. I have many things i have planned for my future and i can’t wait to see what it has in store for me and to push through every tough moment life throws at me. This is a dream I will and could never stop chasing! This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I hope I can apply to this scholarship and not only for me or my family but future lives I can be helping!

Yenifer G  on 2/9/2021 7:44:58 AM

Good morning, I would like to apply for this scholarship because of the circumstances that have been presented. My father is a father of 6! He has so much on his hands I currently have two jobs and go to college classes everyday from 8- 3pm. I told him that I would like to pay for my college tuition. That way I could help him taking that weight off of him. I was hoping I would have money left over so that I could help him with bills but unfortunately it didn't turn out to be that way.

Hurshiell S  on 2/5/2021 1:33:49 PM

I would be most honored and grateful to receive such a scholarship. I am applying to the Nursing program at Southern University at Shreveport. My ultimate goal is to become a nurse practitioner but I must first become a nurse. At Southern University at Shreveport the director of the program is so high on getting me into the program do to my former academic excellence, that I will be allowed to take the NLP(National League for pre-Admissions Exam) for RN's before I ever set foot in a classroom. But that can only be made a reality through your help. I am not eligible for student loans or grants. You are my best hope at advancing my career in nursing- yours truly, Hurshiell Douglas Stegall

Breanna B  on 1/28/2021 9:33:05 PM

Mari Francis G  on 1/28/2021 2:57:31 PM

As the famous saying goes "better late than never" is motto I repeatedly say to myself. I have been in the health care field working as a Licensed vocational nurse for about 15 years primarily working in corrections and substance abuse clinics in the Bay Area. I have been in school for the past 6 years. AT LAST, all my hard work will soon pay off in October 2021 for I will finally graduate with my bachelor's degree in nursing. The most infamous career that so many people want to do, not out of passion but for monetary purposes.

Isra H  on 1/27/2021 9:37:45 AM

I would like to apply for this scholarship to continue my career in nursing. I am a disabled veteran and I would like to conitnue to serve my country and the people in every way that I can. With these uncertain times that we are experiencing I would like to do my part and be part of the solution and not the problem. Many are switching careers from the healthcare field, however; I would like to continue with the oath that I took and that is to continue to care for those that are not able to care for themselves. I have been fortunate to receive outstanding heatlthcare and have been given a chance to have some "normalcy" in my life. I would just like to have the opportunity to pay it forward. Thank you.

Hello. I would like to apply for this scholarship in pursuing my career as a nurse. I currently have a bachelor's degree in Communications and plan to attend Xavier's ABSN program. Over the years, I have been working as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant and have truly seen what compassion and caring for others can do for all involved. I know I will continue to grow in this field and I look forward to helping those in need.

Roya S  on 1/13/2021 10:09:40 PM

I believe, Nursing is the intersection of humility, knowledge, and compassion. Since childhood,When I watched the Cartoon,“lady with the lamp” about Florence Nightingale. I always admired the work of the nurse and the uniform that signified service, help and healing. During war between Iran and Iraq, I worked in hospital, this experience only fortified my heartfelt ambitions to help people overcome their medical maladies. then I had to move to the USA with my children as a refugee and continued my education and followed my dream. I worked as a provider 8 years and applied for CNA program and also finished my prerequisites to apply nursing and LVN program with 3.7 GPA. In addition, I was interpreting in the UC Davis children's hospital and Pain Management Office as a volunteer and this scholarship can help me financially to reach my goal so faster.

juan R  on 1/5/2021 10:00:00 PM

Hello, as an immigrant of this country it will be a pleasure to be able to help other citizens. I am a current nurse student and I work as a Medical Assistant full time. Helping other to get well is the most pleasant feeling I get when I see a patient leaving the hospital where I work. Nursing is my passion and my future. If I graduate from nursing school I'll be the first one in my family to obtain a college degree, I also want to be a role model for my siblings. I am a very compassionate individual that is pursuing an opportunity in the medical field to help as many people as I can. Nurses have the ability to change someone's life by providing an exceptional care to their patients. I really want to be hero and work as a nurse especially now when The COVID- 19 has affected many families around the world.

Vonda F  on 1/4/2021 12:23:42 PM

I did apply for this scholarship. My husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is currently under going treatment. We are now on limited income due to his illness. Before his diagnosis I wanted to go back to school to become a nurse. I had an interest in working either hospice care or oncology. Now that I have taken him to his treatments and have seen firsthand the nurses working with oncology patients. I want to earn this degree. Thank you for your consideration.

Samantha M.  on 12/31/2020 3:54:53 PM

Hello, I am a sophomore in my BSN program. Although I have only been in nursing school for 1 year, I have 10 years of medical and dermatological background. I've worked closely with patients who present various complex skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, hidradenitis suppurativa, and even skin cancers. After working in the medical field for 9 years I finally decided that healthcare Is something that I am absolutely passionate about and I decided to take the necessary measures to be accepted into a nursing program. While enrolling in this program I found out about various ways that I as a nurse can contribute to women's health in impoverished third world countries. This is something that resonated with me because although I grew up in America, I was raised in a one-parent home and first handedly witnessed the struggles one can face when it comes to receiving appropriate healthcare or let alone health care knowledge in order to better maintain a clean bill of health. When I become a nurse I want to advocate for those patients who do not have a voice and better spread medical knowledge within my community and third world countries such as India and Africa who lack access to much-needed medical care. I am passionate about making a difference in this world and I am excited to know that I have found my purpose and I'm fortunate enough to be passionate about a profession where I'm in a position to be able to give back. With that being said, school fees are starting to add up and due to the unforeseen pandemic, my income has decreased significantly. Unfortunately, I don't have financial support from my family. I do live alone and I am 100% financially responsible for all expenses in my home. Financial assistance for school would be a great help and a major relief. I pray that I am at least considered for this scholarship. Winning this scholarship would lift a tremendous load off my shoulders and would allow me to further focus on my academic journey.

Christopher L  on 12/30/2020 1:30:00 PM

Hello, I would like to apply for this scholarship to continue my education in the Health field. I am currently a Certified Nursing Assistant or (CNA). I worked at a Nursing home and I would assist my patients with their tasks throughout the day. I worked with Dementia Patients, Alzheimer's Patients, Rehabilitation Patients, and so forth. I moved to Upstate New York this past year and i have not had any luck finding a Nursing Home, and or Hospital to work at. I would like to continue my education because people being Healthy and and taken care of is what makes me happy. Knowing that You are able to help someone when they are in need of it is the most heart warming thing. I think that this scholarship would be an amazing opportunity for me, because with this pandemic I can not find a job and I would love to continue my education in the Health/Medical field. When I was 18 years old I had a rough time in my life with my depression and I had met a Nursing Assistant and realized that I want people to feel like they are cared about, and realize that no matter what they have going on in their lives that people care about them and will show compassion to them. My goal is to become a (Psychiatric) Nurse Practitioner to help those in need. You can never show someone to much kindness.

nada s  on 12/28/2020 12:32:46 AM

Hello. I would like to apply for this scholarship to complete my education for nursing, and be able to financially take care of myself and two daughters . I am a single parent , currently employed full time as a PCA ,CNA on the Ortho/ Trauma team here in Indianapolis Indiana for IU Health . I have experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and have been for 11 years. I believe we need more nurse's , to help provide care throughout the world and even more so during this pandemic . I come from a family of healthcare providers from nurse's to surgeon assistants , and so fourth . I am a people person and strongly believe in advocating for patients/residents who desperately needs care to be provided for them , and can't speak for themselves for whatever reason . This pandemic has taken an toll on myself and family, I was faced with an injury sustained from a ceiling collapsing on myself, oldest daughter , and neighbor back in June 2020, this case is still ongoing but I was hit financially hard due the negligence of my landlord . I do not have family here to help me if I need it, and this scholarship could help me tremendously . I hope that I am considered for the opportunity to use this scholarship to achieve my career adventures and become the nurse, I have also wanted to be.

Katherine S  on 12/26/2020 5:02:58 PM

Hello. I became a mother at the age of 17, right after graduating high school. Today, I have 4 little ones that I need to take care of. My husband has been the best support system in this nursing journey but I no longer qualify for financial aide. I am a fulltime parent. Financially, we are barley making ends meet but we have always made it possible to pay for my education. It would be a tremendous help if I can receive some type of scholarships. I have always dreamed about becoming a nurse. I may have not gone to college after graduating high school but it is never to late to go for your dream.

Vanessa N  on 12/26/2020 1:31:25 AM

Hello I am a mother of 4 kids. Presently Iam a med tech and presently gotten admision to do BSN Nursing. I needed a scholarship to actualize this dream. Thank you.

Christopher D.  on 12/22/2020 9:58:03 PM

I'm applying for this scholarship, because I'm the kind of person who wants to be on the front lines. Before debating on my decision on wanting to be a nurse, being a Navy Corpsman came to mind. Having that mental of thought of being in the front lines with fellow brothers and sisters of my aspired profession, would be an honor. My whole life I looked up to relatives who were involved with patient care. My goal would be to follow in their footsteps and provide the best healthcare service within my well-being. Good luck to any future nurse who get's this scholarship. God bless and have a Merry Christmas!

Caycee S  on 12/21/2020 10:00:45 PM

Hello. I would like to apply for this scholarship because I would like to have more responsibility, and make a even greater change within the healthcare field. I am currently a CNA working in an ICU and critical care department in a hospital here in north Georgia. With the pandemic, loss of patients, trust put in me by fellow patients family members regarding the well being of their loved ones, and being on the frontlines I know I am supposed to be here and doing more. I have been able to assist and aide with patient care out of my scope (with supervision), and love the thrill and fulfillment I get, along with comforting my patients that they are in good hands. I am a people person, and believe in having more than a in and out of the room relationship with my patient (s). Its deeper than that, and I value it. I have been a CNA for 3 years, and know it is time to step up my game, and go after more in life so I can be one of the best. I do however need help with the payment aspect, being that I am a full time worker, averaging about 48 hours a week, working 12 hour shifts at night. Either way, thank you for this opportunity, and I pray I am chosen. Thank You.

Latoya D  on 12/21/2020 8:49:58 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because becoming a nurse is my dream and I feel it is my calling. Being a single mom of four it has been financially difficult to pursue my dreams on my own. I want my children to know that no matter how long it takes you to accomplish your dreams never give up and never stop trying. I will accomplish my goal to become a nurse and at the end I will look back and know that ever obstacle, every hardship that I had to go through was all worth it.

Nattasha S  on 12/21/2020 5:01:50 PM

I am single mom with 3 kids. I am RN and I would like to get Hospice RN certification. It cost 900$ from San Marcos State University. I would like some scholarship to assist for this class. thank you.

Oluwaseyi K  on 12/19/2020 4:08:01 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because my major course of study is Nursing. I am working as a Certified Nursing Assistant presently, but I will not be able to work many hours again when I start my full time program. So, I need this scholarship to be able to have a BSN degree. Thank you

Isata L  on 12/17/2020 1:40:46 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because I have always wanted to be a nurse practitioner but lack the finances to pursue my dream. As a mother I want to show my child that anything is possible in life once you have the determination and the drive to pursue what you want.

jayla m  on 12/15/2020 4:43:48 PM

i am applying for this scholarship because i know for sure nursing is what i want to do, i am a helpful and caring person and need this scholarship because my mom is a single mother of three and cannot afford to pay for me and my sister to go to college at the same time especially with me wanting to do something so costly ,with the bare minimum help of my dad, so it would be a huge help for my mom so that is part of why i signed up for this scholarship.

Chloe V  on 12/14/2020 11:13:35 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because I plan on pursing a nursing major at Texas Woman's University. My goal is to work with children. I would love to either do labor and delivery and work my way up to a gynecologist or a regular pediatric surgeon. I'm also very interested in oncology and neurosurgery. Any amount of money would help me be able to pay for college and not have my mom worry so much about getting three kids into college all by herself.

Makenna J  on 12/14/2020 4:04:30 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because I would love to pursue a career in the medical field, but I currently don't have the funds plus I am the 4th kid out of 8, so this scholarship would truly help me and my parents out wonderfully.

JENCYMOL M  on 12/12/2020 12:06:21 PM

I am applying for this scholarship as I want to excel in my nursing career and serve the community. I strongly believe I am a good candidate for this as I always strived for nursing excellence by continuously engaging in professional enhancement certifications like critical care nursing certification and progressive care nursing certification. I was also able to achieve a masters in nursing with emphasis on nursing education. But for pursuing my current degree I really need support and encouragement.

Kayla V  on 12/11/2020 4:29:24 PM

I am applying for this scholarship as i do not qualify for financial assistance and have no other form of financial support. I currently work part time at a hospital Sonora Ca. I am enrolled in a accelerated program and unfortunately am seeking assistance to chase my dream job. I have been going to school since I was 18 and there has never been a doubt in my mind that nursing is my calling. I attempted to transfer to Columbia college from Victor Valley College, unfortunately Columbia College informed me that I would have to start all over again and retake all my prerequisites, unfortunately after paying out of pocket for my education for 3 years I found myself in a position where I could not pay out of pocket any more. I wanted to go accelerated. I proceeded to find an accelerated program, I tested high on my entrance exam and was accepted into Gurnick Academy. I have passed my prerequisite courses with a 97.5% and have been accepted into Module 1 starting January, unfortunately I did not qualify for aid again and I am finding myself in the same situation as before. I just do not have the income. I currently have a Balance of 19,000, this scholarship would help be so much not only just to help pay for my tuition but allowing me to move forward in the process of chasing my dream.

Throughout my life, I have always gravitated towards helping others. I would find joy lifting a burden off of someone's shoulders, seeing a smile grow on their face. Therefore, I knew becoming a nurse would fill a void in my life I didn't know I had. However, life can sometimes get in the way of big dreams; for me, money is one of those issues. Earning this scholarship will not only help me tremendously but it will finally give me the ability to help others.

Good day I have tried many times to accomplish acquiring my nursing degree but was put off several times, from the birth of my daughter , not doing so good in my math classes to financial difficulties etc. I am SCARED to try again but still pushing to show my son an daughter I did it. I also feel that I need to do this for me for many reason I can't even list, but it would put me in a place where I feel that if I accomplish this, at some point in life it can help someone else. Thanks in advance for even the consideration.

I'm applying because i've decided to go back to school for my nurse anesthetist, after working as an RN for 19yr, need my bacholors first. have 3 young kids and a husband and work full time. and will continue to work full time, and change from an operating room nurse to an ICU to get the required time in. So any and all the help I can get to decrease the amount of loans that i'll need to take out will help tremenously.

I am 47 years old with 4 children. I would like to peruse the field of nursing. I have not had the time to peruse my career because I always put my children, parents and everyone else first which I love helping everyone. I know everyone says it’s to late for me to start in nursing but that’s where my passion is caring for others.

I am a 67 y/o nurse who has retired after a 41 year career. I have my Bachelors in Nursing and after the death of my son in 2006, I returned to school to obtain my Masters in Nursing. My dear mother assisted me financially. But after her death, I was unable to continue and I have three classes or nine credits left in order to graduate with my Masters. It has always been a goal of mine to teach nursing. Plus, I would love to complete my Masters degree. I was approached by the University in my hometown to be an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for their Bachelors Program, but was unable to accept because the Board of Nursing will not allow an instructor to teach unless they are enrolled in a Masters Program. I very much need this scholarship. Medicare barely affords me the ability to live, much less anything extra.

I'm applying for this scholarship as I want to major in nursing. I'm an only child and was adopted as a baby from Hunan China to wonderful older parents in South Carolina. My father had to retire from his job un-expectedly due to an auto immune disease of the liver and is living off social security and his savings. I currently work at a local restaurant after school and on weekends to help support our family and pay for my education. Thank you for any consideration for this granting a much needed scholarship.

I am applying for this scholarship because I am over 50, and this scholarship allows me to work towards my Nurse Practioner in Psychiatric and Elderly Acute Care. My age plays a significant role in my focus and current financial needs to finish my degree as quickly as possible. Currently, my husband is the only employed member of our household. My job ended in June of 2020 due to COVID-19. I finished my BSN in July of 2020 and need to continue my education. This scholarship would help out tremendously in my current educational needs.

I am applying for this scholarship so that it will be possible to obtain my Doctorate Degree in Nursing. I am a family nurse practitioner in MA and serve as a primary care provider. I am interested in potentially teaching undergraduate nursing students, as there is a significant lack of professors, which is limiting the number of individuals who are able to gain acceptance into a program. This is concerning; as we have seen during the COVID pandemic, nurses are invaluable and we most certainly need more of them. My daughter is entering college soon and the financial strain of both her and myself studying to obtain higher education will be enormous.

Since a young age while in Africa I've been admiring family members who are pursuing a job in the medical field go back and forth in treating individuals. I’ve won several small scholarships; however, my goal is to win over $500,000 in bigger ones! I have over $50,000 and reducing in school loans...thing is to apply, hope and pray. Still do your best. Apply for easy, no essays and for the scholarships that require an essay...write and submit your best work. I’ve won over $20,000 in scholarships and I’m well on my way to my goal and up to my Masters Degree in Healthcare Services Administration! Don’t give up!

I am a mother of 3 children, ages 12, 8 & 4. I am currently working full-time as an LPN, Center Manager at a primary care office. I have finally decided to go back to school and bridge from LPN to RN to further my career opportunities within my current organization which I have been with for the last 7 years. We are very financially strapped any and all scholarships are much needed and would be extraordinarily appreciated as I do not qualify for financial aid.

I applied to this scholarship because it’s for what I’m majoring in. In this world that we live in we need help and we also need our youth to step up and become leaders and doctors. With this money it could help me be the next big doctors helping save people lives. Also this will mean a lot because even with financial aid I am still going to be struggling trying to pay for college. Being that my parents already have 3 kids in college already.
