JSU Lovett Scholarship

• Scholarship Description
• The Jacksonville State University Foundation awards the Lovett Scholarship annually. Established by Mr. Opal R. and Ms. Opal A. Lovett for a deserving student majoring in History, English, or Art who has achieved sophomore or above status. Mr. Lovett was the University's Photographer prior to his retirement. Ms. Lovett taught in the English Department prior to her retirement. Ms. Lovett is an Emeriti Faculty Member. The JSU Foundation, through collaborative relationships with individuals, corporations, foundations, and other organizations, creates opportunities that will provide additional support to the students, programs, services, and educational community of Jacksonville State University.

  The Foundation will achieve its mission through image enhancement, effective asset management, entrepreneurial efforts, and development activities. The overall mission of the JSU Foundation is to maximize private gift support for Jacksonville State University while laying the groundwork for future fundraising success, in order to aid the University in fulfilling its own mission of excellence in education, research, and service.
