Scholarship Description

Education is vital to the growth and future of every community. Because of this, the Saginaw Community Foundation administers a variety of scholarship programs for high school, community college, university and vocational students. Since awarding our first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded more than $8 million in scholarships. Learn more about all of our 235+ scholarships by using our scholarship directory. Applications run from November 1 until the due date.

The Kanika Goodman Scholarship was established in 1997 in memory of Kanika Goodman. Kanika was only 19 years old when she died on May 6, 1997, due to complications from a bone marrow transplant. To qualify for this award, applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be from a single-parent home and plan to enroll in college full-time during the upcoming academic year. Two scholarships will be awarded - one to a Saginaw High School senior, one to a senior from any Saginaw County high school.
