PFLAG South Orange County Student Scholarship

• Scholarship Description
• Outstanding graduating high school seniors and college/vocational students are encouraged to apply for the scholarships offered through PFLAG South Orange County. Monetary awards of up to $2,500.00 are available to residents (or children of residents) of Orange County between the ages of 17-24 who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, or queer/questioning, and to straight allies who have directly supported LGBTQI youth and/or the LGBTQI community.

  Awards will be paid directly to the student. PFLAG website will be open to receive applications beginning February 15 and application and essay must be received by PFLAG via email by May 6th. Letter of recommendation received via US mail must be postmarked by May 6th. Letter of recommendation received via email must be received by May 6th. Decision will be announced by May 26th. Recipients will be notified by email. Recipients will be asked to attend the Wednesday, June 14, (via zoom or in-person if available), South OC PFLAG meeting to accept their awards personally. Attendance at the award ceremony is not mandatory to receive the award.
