The Alexander Christian Foundation is a unique, non-profit, organization established in 1964 to grant scholarships to Indiana residents pursuing full-time vocations in Christian ministry. Mr. Bill Duncan, with support of local ministers, business leaders, and profits from his personal business, awarded the first of over 900 scholarships. Alexander, meaning “helper”, was chosen to represent the mission of the foundation. To date, over $3 million combined dollars in scholarship have been awarded.
The Alexander Christian Foundation (ACF) offers both undergraduate and graduate scholarships. To be eligible for the undergraduate scholarships, applicants must: be a participating member of an independent Christian church/Church of Christ in Indiana; have a planned vocation serving within a church or mission setting; attend a qualifying Christian college full-time (min. 12 credit hours); have a 3.0 GPA; and have not received an ACF scholarship for 8 semesters (undergrad) or 4 semesters (grad). For the graduate scholarships, applicants must: be either holding an active ministry position in Indiana with an Independent Christian Church/Church of Christ, or an Indiana-sponsored missionary, or actively pursuing a church-related vocation or a candidate for church-related vocation; and hold an A.B. or B.S. degree and be accepted for graduate study at an approved seminary attending full-time (8hrs min.). Applications are available December - March 1. Award amounts will vary.
