Once you factor in generous aid packages (two out of three first-year students receive financial aid), the University of Michigan is one of the most affordable public colleges in the nation. Our students represent a wide range of income levels — showing our commitment to making higher education accessible and affordable. We encourage you to reach out directly to U-M's Central Financial Aid Office if you'd like to learn more about the cost of attendance and financial aid opportunities for out-of-state students.
The Ross scholarship selections are based on criteria set by our donors and average around $5,000. Many scholarships are need-based, so we encourage U.S. citizens and permanent residents to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Ross Financial Aid office posts scholarship opportunities throughout the year. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider’s website.
