Scholarship Description

Education is vital to the growth and future of every community. Because of this, the Saginaw Community Foundation administers a variety of scholarship programs for high school, community college, university and vocational students. Since awarding our first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded more than $8 million in scholarships. Learn more about all of our 235+ scholarships by using our scholarship directory. Applications run from November 1 until the due date.

Great Lakes Safety Training Scholarship was established to benefit individuals who are pursuing a career in the trades or construction with an emphasis on safety. The fund will provide an annual scholarship award to a resident of Gratiot or Saginaw County who is pursuing a degree or certification in trades, construction, manufacturing, or engineering with an interest in safety at a college, university, or licensed vocational/technical school (and who is a sophomore at the time of this application). Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and must complete an essay on why this field of study was chosen, and how safety has impacted or can impact your life. Dollar amounts for the scholarship will vary.
