Scholarship Description

The JFEW Scholarship program is dedicated to providing 3-year scholarships to young women who are members of CUNY Hillels. Specifically designed for CUNY Career Connect, this initiative aims to support and empower young women within the CUNY Hillel community to progress towards self-sufficient futures, ensuring timely graduation with minimal debt.

Benefits for JFEW Students: Students selected for the JFEW Scholarship program receive a comprehensive support package, including:

• A $4000 scholarship for each of their sophomore, junior, and senior years. • A paid summer internship between the sophomore and junior years. • Access to professional development opportunities and events. • Personalized 1:1 mentorship and guidance.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the JFEW Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Full-time enrollment at a CUNY College. • Three academic years (6 semesters) remaining. • Demonstrated financial need. • Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Internship Opportunities: Internship opportunities under the JFEW program are tailored to student interests. Past employers have included prestigious organizations such as NYU Langone, Guggenheim Museum, League of Women Voters, Schneps Media, Goodwill Industries, and JRT Realty.

Funding and Support: JFEW is generously funded by the Jewish Foundation for Education of Women, with additional support from UJA-Federation of New York. The Jewish Foundation for Education of Women is committed to assisting women with financial need in achieving their educational and career goals through scholarships and professional development.
