Applicants of the Delaware Educational Benefits for Children of Deceased Veterans and Others must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen and must be a child of a member of the armed forces whose cause of death was service-related, held a prisoner of war, or is officially declared missing in action; or a state police officer whose cause of death was service-related; state employee of the Department of Transportation routinely employed in job-related activities upon the state highway system whose death was job-related. The number of recipients and dollar amounts will vary.
The State of Delaware provides educational benefits for the children of deceased veterans of the military services of the United States, military service personnel held as a prisoner of war and military service personnel officially declared to be missing in action. Applicant must have been a resident of the state of Delaware for three or more consecutive years prior to the date of application. If the parent is a member of the armed forces, the parent must have been a resident of Delaware at the time of death or declaration of missing in action/prisoner of war status.
