The Genesee Valley Branch (GVB) of the American Public Works Association (APWA), New York State Chapter, seeks to encourage students to consider a career in the field of Public Works. The GVB will support courses of study in Civil Engineering, Urban/Regional Planning, Public Works Profession, or Skilled Trades by providing partial financial support for tuition and fees to a student who is, or will be, enrolled in an accredited College or University or an accredited Trade School Training/Apprenticeship Program. The GVB will award three (3) scholarship(s) annually in the amount of $1,000 USD to the successful Applicant(s) to be applied to educational expenses.
At the start of the academic school year, applicant(s) must provide proof of any of the following enrollment types: A current full-time college student enrolled in a college or university accredited degree, program in Civil Engineering, Urban or Regional Planning, or Public Works; A High School senior accepted and enrolled into an accredited degree program in Civil Engineering, Urban or Regional Planning or Public Works; A High School senior enrolled in an accredited educational Trade/Apprenticeship; Program in an area of Public Works, Construction, Plumbing and so forth.
