In memory of Melissa "Missy" Stoneberger, the Melissa Stoneberger Foundation is to benefit the causes and organizations loved by her, continuing her passion to help those in need. Although challenged with brain cancer, Missy lived her life as many of us aspire to. She was loving, kind and always willing to lend a helping hand. She is an inspiration to so many. For Missy, there were no excuses. She helped so organizations and individuals in her short time with us. With only 30% of her vision, she still painted at home, church, and the Creative Growth Art Center. We continue to do Missy's work as she watches over us with her bright, everlasting smile.
The Melissa Stoneberger Foundation is looking for a highly motivated applicant who is involved in his/her community, with strong leadership skills and personal drive, a full-time student, who is both willing to help us in continuing Melissa's legacy and in need. Applicants are required to submit necessary documents (including transcripts), a GPA score of 3.5 or higher, demonstration of financial need, the college letter of acceptance, four-part essay and a minimum of two recommendation letters. Current college students will also be considered. Scholarships generally range from $1,000-$5,000, and the number of recipients varies each year (though it's usually tens of people).
