The purpose of the Reno Rodeo Foundation Western Arts & Culture Scholarship is to create further awareness and appreciation of western arts, culture and heritage in college-age Nevadans through recognition of outstanding potential, contributions and skill in the creative arts. Students interested in applying must submit a Reno Rodeo Foundation scholarship application plus an addendum, which requires applicants to answer four additional questions and submit three samples of art that support our rich western culture, tradition and heritage.
The selection criteria is be based on their level of skill in the chosen area of arts/culture as well as completion of the additional addendum. The applicant does not have to have a specific major to be eligible to apply. This scholarship award will be made in addition to the Reno Rodeo Foundation Scholarship based on the ranking of all scholarship applicants. All applicants not selected for the Western Arts & Culture scholarship will remain in the selection process for the general Reno Rodeo Foundation Scholarships. Applicants must have graduated from a Northern Nevada high school and must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 at the time of application to be considered. Dollar amounts for the scholarship will vary.
