Each spring the CCGGA schedules an Open House & Scholarship fundraising event to raise funds for scholarships. Each participating nursery proudly donates a portion of that day’s sales (mainly plants) to the CCGGA Scholarship Fund. Only High school seniors or currently enrolled undergraduate college students are eligible.
Eligibility
- Must be a California resident.
- High School Seniors and currently enrolled college students who are children of CCGGA Grower Members, including children whose parents or guardians are employees of a member nursery. Note: any major will be accepted in this category.
- High School Seniors and currently enrolled college students pursuing an education in Horticulture, one of the Plant Sciences or Environmental Sciences. Future educators in the plant sciences will be considered.
- Students pursuing plant production, management or research careers are especially encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
- Submit the scholarship application
- Transcripts: Submit entire high school and collegiate time periods.(Unofficial transcripts are acceptable but the applicants name must be clearly stated as well as a school reference or website link in footer.)
- Submit two or more letters of reccomendation (From school faculty or member/teacher and/or another adult in the community)
- Submit scholarship essay of 250 or fewer words
