As a high school senior who has no financial support, any kind of financial assistance is highly valued and needed. I am a second generation college student and wish to graduate with as much financial aid possible. My mother is unemployed and I need to pay for college myself. I believe I am the perfect applicant for this scholarship. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Hello, my name is Jimmy Brown. I am an African American Honor student since 2nd grade. I’m a senior in high school. I am applying for this scholarship so that my situation of financial hardship to go to college does not prevent me from my heart’s desire to help people as my future career. I’ve played football for 9 years straight and during my life time I’ve seen a lot of unhealthy people and multiple injuries. I want to help people especially upcoming generations and elderly get healthy and live and improve their bodies. I’ve been injured a few times but by Gods grace I recovered. Experience is the best teacher and my goal is to help and educate others so they won’t go through what I went through.

Jessica V  on 1/4/2022 11:40:19 PM

Hi, my name is Jessica. I am on my last year of my undergrad. I have reached my limit to receive financial aid as a dependent up until I am 24 when I can receive as independent. I would love to finish this year since I am so close to the finish line, and I really want to proceed onto my masters. Any financial help that I could get at this moment will help me finish off my undergrad like planned.

William V  on 1/5/2021 11:22:06 AM

As a high school senior, I have had years of paying expensive college tuition. I have served in the US Air Force Reserves for the past 2.5 years as a propeller engine mechanic. I have also recently gotten married. I have many priorities in life and any form of additional financial assistance would help my new wife and I ease into our life after college.

Though every year of school since elementary I have put in all the effort to ensure I am deserving of any help I receive. I believe I am the perfect applicant for this scholarship. I am going into my Sophomore year of college and costs are very high. I am taking very difficult classes and have no financial aid other than my job. Getting this scholarship would mean everything for my future.

Adriana B  on 12/20/2020 6:21:20 AM

I am a third year undergrad student and the pandemic has put a strain on my parents employment. Having an on campus job barely helps because it is minimum wage and not a lot of hours. My textbooks plus rent and to put food on the table are very costly.

Nicholas Veach  on 12/14/2020 5:41:18 PM

I am going into my sophomore year of college. This pandemic has affected my family severely. We lost our home and their jobs due to the shut downs. Now, my family and I are living with my aunt and uncle. My mom has gotten a new job as an accounts payable clerk at a church while my dad helps my uncle with his fencing business. My brother has also began to work part time at our local Kohl's while I attend school. I am applying for this scholarship because if I don't have money for school I will have to put my education on hold and may never get back around to it.

Joseph P  on 12/10/2020 11:31:52 AM

i have 3 older siblings who are in college at this time and i know my parents are doing everything they can to help with all of our education goals. i hope by applying for this scholarship i can help them help me.

I need to pay for my tuition and supplies and have absolutely no credit, i,m about to graduate high school. gonna have to move out because of family problems. Don't know what else to do

Taylor Danforth  on 11/19/2020 8:33:21 PM

I am going to be starting classes on December 15,2020 at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Ia. I am a single mother of 3 currently working part time at the local daycare center. I need help with my tuition for the 2021 School year, I am going to be majoring in Literary Arts while taking my Early Childhood Education classes as well as my Elementary Education classes. Due to COVID I have just been able to start working again and now there is rumor going around about another shut down so there is no garuntee that I will still have a job by the end of the year. I am struggling as it is with three kids and i am doing the best I can and not having to worry about how I am going to be paying for school would be a wonderful stress off my shoulders.

Christopher R  on 11/9/2020 8:41:37 PM

It has always been a dream of mine to attend college with my twin brother, ever since we were growing up. We want to experience college life and all that it entails. My mother has always taught us the value of a great education. She is an immigrant that migrated to the U.S. when she was 10 yrs old to live with her aunt. She wasn't given the opportunity to attend college after high school. She would always tell us that an opportunity is an opportunity and to take it and make something of it. She has always been our teacher and provider, who believes in the power of a great college education. She would always tell us that"Knowledge is the key to success". I would love to attend college to one day become a Computer Engineer. My mother worked so hard each day to ensure that our needs are met. It would be her dream and ours for her to be able to pay for us to attend college; however, it is financially impossible. I hope that you can consider me for any financial assistance towards my college tuition. I have worked very hard to stay on the right track to college and beyond.

These grants are a wonderful opportunity for students to succeed for education in America!

Tiara W  on 10/22/2020 5:33:36 PM

I am from a single parent household with a younger sibling still in middle school. My parent has been motivating me to do my best hoping for some scholarship. Just learned about this scholarship opportunity and applying now. With the way the economy has been impacted during this year, high school seniors need opportunities with scholarships to assist these families. Our generation needs to have options that will allow them to apply for scholarship money.

Simon H  on 10/20/2020 7:40:00 PM

I am a college senior admitted at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. My college has been paid for solely in loans, and my parents do not qualify for FAFSA. I have embodied the characteristics of a hardworking, committed college student and have obtained a 3.71 GPA in Finance. upon graduation, I will be drowning in student debt that I will be battling to pay back.

Kyra A  on 10/9/2020 11:56:04 AM

Hello, my mother has been raising two children on her own and I would have to pay of all loans and tuition off myself with no credit. I will be an incoming freshmen

Hema Premchand  on 9/27/2020 6:11:26 PM

My mother is currently unemployed and we are unable to pay the tuition at York college and college students know that not paying tuition can affect our dreams and education. Times like this are very difficult for everyone especially due to covid and many families are unable to recieve money.

Angela P  on 9/21/2020 9:53:18 AM

I am pretty much like everyone here that needs help and is struggling during this Pandemic. I am a mother of three who has been furloughed. I am only getting $219 from unemployment. I am just all over the place. On top of that I am trying my best to make sure my kids are getting their virtual schooling done. It has been so depressing and so hard. it's just me, i wish I had the help I needed. however I don't. I put my children before myself as I do in every situation. I have 13 credits left and I just simply can not afford $400 a month because my loan is finished. I have prayed about it and now I am seeking help I am applying for his scholarship because I honestly need it.

Jatavion A  on 9/7/2020 8:30:00 AM

I need help paying off my first semester school debt. The pandemic put a strain on my household and college is about to add to the struggles. This scholarship can help ease my mind and pay for some of my tuition so I can stay on campus and get my degree without the worrying.

Chisom U  on 8/3/2020 4:26:21 PM

I am admitted to John Hopkins University, class of 2024. I did not turn in my FAFSA on time, because I traveled to Nigerian with my parent for the adoption of my siblings. I missed out on the opportunity to be awarded full ride merit Scholarship. When I finally turned in my FAFSA in late February of 2020, my parent's did not qualify, although my mom had lost her job since November 2019 which was not considered in the decision making. I am a GATE student. The grant that I finally received from my schools was not sufficient to cover my tuition. I am a competitive student, graduated with a weighted GPA of 4.4 and a non-weighted GPA of 4.0. I have been involved in some volunteer services, Church, preschool, daycare, and volunteered at the Department of Veteran's Affairs, cared for "him who shall have borne the battle". I am pursuing an undergraduate course in neuroscience as my major, and doing music as my minor. I planned to go to a medical school, to be in the front-line, to care for our nation. I also planned to use music as a tool in helping my patients in their recoveries. I have a strong passion for people. My mom lost her job since November 2019, and my dad's business is badly affected by the COVID-19. With the two children that my parents are adopting, which process they began years ago, and the recent economic situation that my mom's job lost, as well as the effects of COVID-19, I am concerned that my college expenses may pose serious financial burden to my parents. As a member of the 2020 graduating student who shared this pandemic with the world, missed out on my traditional graduating, my prom, and having to undertake an on-line first year undergraduate courses, coupled with not celebrating my 18th Birthday, my big milestones, with friends and family, it was really tough. Getting this grant will be very rewarding and will be very appreciated. We strive to stay safe and continue to support one another.

I am a junior in college about to start the education program. I had to borrow a loan with my local bank to pay off my student loan my freshman year. I barely got a loan out to pay for this coming up semester. With student teaching I won't be able to work full time and pay back my loans each month or pay for rent. My parents don't help me out at all especially since Covid19 I've been struggling and moved back home due to it. It would also allow me to move back close to school instead of driving 2 each everyday. Most importantly this loan would help me focus and help me be the best for these future student. Please help me!

Hello, I am currently a full time student who is seeking help to finish school. FASFA does not even cover a third of my degree. I currently work full time. Working full time as well as helping my single mother with financial difficulties. I take care of both sister and brother. This scholarship would severely help me with finishing school. Thank you for your time.

Kristy N  on 7/15/2020 1:04:22 PM

Hello, I'm an incoming freshman and I still have tuition to pay off. I'm rather scared of private loans because I'm a first generational student. I'm hoping to pay off school without much debt.

Kathryn C.  on 7/14/2020 12:27:52 PM

I am going to college to make a better life for myself. I have been taking care of and supporting myself for the last two years while finishing at high school and graduating with a 3.6 GPA. I do not have the financial support of my parents. I would greatly appreciate any assistance that I receive to obtain my degree.

I will be starting my Sophomore year in the Fall of 2020. I very much want to become a registered nurse, however I have very limited income. I am the only child of a single mother who struggles to give me the best education possible. I have applied for Financial Aide, but unfortunately it does not cover enough. I have tried to apply for loans, but I get denied for most and my mom does not have good credit. I never imagined that trying to get an education could be so difficult financially. I would greatly appreciate it if I could be considered for any extra assistance. I want to be able to finish college and become a nurse. My biological father refuses to assist me financially. After the COVID 19 pandemic, I want to be a nurse even more.

Esther L  on 5/18/2020 8:54:55 PM

Both of my parents have been unemployed for a long time. Therefore, I have been supporting my living cost and tuition by myself after I got into high school. No matter how hard I tried and struggled, it is so hard to go to school without my parents' help. Also, it seems impossible to expect financial support from my parents. Therefore, I sincerely need the scholarship to finish my education path and open my new journey for the future. If I can graduate from school with this scholarship, would I be able to help students like me who can't go to school because of poverty in the future?

Samuel F  on 4/28/2020 2:55:45 PM

Hello, I am just weeks away from being done with high school and I am applying for as many scholarships as possible. I live with my father who works in the oil field and due to the HUGE price drop in oil he is out of work and he does not have a clue when he will get work again. I also have a little brother living with us too and he would not be able to help pay for school and support my brother and himself. This would be a great opportunity.

Nicolette G  on 4/23/2020 8:52:41 AM

I am a senior in high school graduating this year. I am applying for this scholarship as i have not received enough financial aid to pay for college. I struggled with depression and anxiety through out my entire 4 years of high school and it was a struggle to even graduate. My gpa was only 1.9 as i missed alot of school due to my anxiety and mental health. I git accepted to a great Christian college and hope this will be a new beginning for me and prove that i can do it and graduate w honors. I am a smart young lady however the struggles of mental health did not help. I would be so grateful if i received even the smallest of scholarship through this fund. Sincerely, Nicolette

I am a junior, and I don't have any federal aide for next year so far. I had to take out a huge loan from Wells Fargo, and have my biological dad cosign. Now, I don't have enough money to finish school next year.

Hello. I am new to applying for the extra help. I am currenty a junior and my federal aide is running outI am so close to being done with school. I am a single mom to 4 kids and just don't have the extra money to pay out of pocket.

STEPHANIE L  on 2/19/2020 1:38:34 PM

Hello, I am new at applying for scholarships but need help with my finances because my financial aid will not cover everything and I would rather not take out to many loans as I have already taken about 3 or 4 and want to keep my balance as low as possible. I am a married mother of 3 boys and I also work full time at a local high school. I hope to be able to continue my education so I can make a better life for me and my family.

Vanessa S  on 1/22/2020 5:48:58 PM

I am currently in my senior year and am trying to apply to as many scholarships as I can. To be completely honest, I am enrolling as a full-time student and I don't think I can work at the same time since I would get burned out and I do not want to get a loan as that would grow over time. This is very important to me because I am the first person on both sides of my family to go to college and go earn a college degree as the highest amount of education they all received was some college, but not completing it. However, I do not want to let them down because I cannot afford to pay.

Michael B H  on 1/12/2020 8:44:10 PM

I have not applied yet, because my mom's income has changed since completing the FAFSA in October 2019. I did not qualify for a Pell grant based on the 2017 Income tax form, but my mom has since been unemployed for 8 months and we have no idea how to make that change to the FAFSA form since she will still have to use 2017 tax form. Looks like I can't go to college because I have no money. I graduate in May 2020. Even if I can update my current financials on the FAFSA, I'll be satisfied with that help.

I took a year off from my College education, and now i am ready to resume my studies. It has been so hard after me and my family lost our wonderful daughter to a deadly disease (cancer). Before our daughter passed away i promised her that i would graduate college. I turn 50 this year and I am so close, With this scholarship opportunity it will help me complete my promise to my daughter, because i know she is in heaven watching me and making sure i deliver on my promise. And with this scholarship i will be able to say to her that "I did It".

Tamera P  on 12/30/2019 5:30:02 PM

I would be so grateful for this scholarship opportunity. This is my fifth year in college and my financial aid has completely ran out. This is my only option to receive help. I am almost at the finish line and I will graduate in fall 2020. My family is not the most fortunate and my parents have made extreme sacrifices in order to keep me in school. We have went without food and shelter in order for my success. My parents lost their house during my freshman year of college, but with the hardwork and determination they still managed to pay my balance down. This is my last resort and with a balance of 7,100, I'm at my wits end. I am the first generational college student and it would means so much to me to receive any help I can get.

Camieo H  on 12/28/2019 8:34:21 PM

I am currently in my senior year and only have 7 classes left. To be completely honest, I have ran out of financial aid and simply cannot afford to pay out of pocket. I have applied for private loans, and each time My credit history could not allow loans. I am so close to finishing up with my BA. This is very important to me because I am the first person on both sides of my family to graduate high school, and will be the first and only college educated person on both sides of my family. I have two children in highschool, one is a senior and the other one is in 11th grade. They both tell me how proud of me they are, however I do not want to let them down because I cannot afford to pay. I have reached out to my school for help, and they have directed me to you all.

Paula O  on 12/24/2019 3:41:59 AM

I am trying to finish my BA in Accounting, been at it for a long time now and just want to be able to get it over with. I currently work in accounting but not been able to get the pay I deserve due to the fact that I do not have my degree. A scholarship would help me to get half way there, so I don't have to take out a personal loan and be more in debt.

Akili Y  on 12/23/2019 2:08:20 PM

My name is Akili and I am very grateful to be able to qualify for this scholarship. I am currently attending a community college to get my Associates in Science and then plan on going to a four year university. When I transfer to a four year I want to become a Sports Physical Therapist because I love helping others, seeing them progress, have a big interest in sports and played throughout my childhood up until my junior year of high school, and I also had to go through physical therapy myself when I found out I had scoliosis. I believe that having some of these attributes will allow me to connect to athletes on a deeper level. Sports have always played a big part in my life which is why I believe this occupation would be a great fit for me. I'm applying for this scholarship to help pay for my tuition and books so that I may continue my education to achieve one of my biggest goals in life. It's also just my mom, brother, and I, so I don't want her to have the burden of paying for tuition. Receiving this scholarship would help us tremendously.

Javan H  on 12/16/2019 8:55:37 PM

Candyce H  on 11/26/2019 8:53:52 AM

I do not have the funds for nursing school. I really need the help. I just obtained my masters in business but without experience, nobody wants yo hire me. So I decided to try nursing. I was accepted and need help with funding. I plan to use my RN and my MBA to land a fantastic job. This is my dream and I do not hace the money. Separated from my husband who makes very little money anyways.

Rian H  on 11/22/2019 6:10:22 PM

I'd like to apply for this scholarship due to financial hardship. I am currently enrolled at Florida Institute of Technology Online, pursuing a BA in Aviation Management. I have run out of any aid that I might receive from the government and have been paying my tuition out of pocket. However in order to make my tuition payments I've had to work 17 hour days Mon-Fri and the hours plus lack of sleep has caused me to struggle with keeping up with my schoolwork. I'm hoping that receiving this scholarship will relieve some of the financial burden of my tuition, allowing me to work less hours and excel at my studies. I have a dream that I can help change the world and it starts with completing my education.

Carrie S  on 11/20/2019 3:08:06 PM

I would like to apply for this. I am pursuing my Bachelor's of Science in Education for Early Childhood Education. I had volunteered for years when my children were going to Head Start as well as my grandchildren. I have been trying to get control of my life but due to certain situations that has put it on back burner. I am excited to accomplish this for my family but mainly for myself. I believe this scholarship will help me accomplish my goal so I can help little people get ready for their life goals.

I have been pursuing my Bachelor's of Science degree for a little over 4 years now. I was not able to finish my undergraduate within 4 years due to financial needs. I have been fortunate enough to receive some financial help from my parents, however, their help is still not enough for me to be able to pay for my tuition this year and this upcoming spring and summer semester. I plan to graduate this summer. But in order to do so, I believe this scholarship offered by the FSEOG program will help me achieve my goal to finish my undergraduate career and to continue to pursue my education in obtaining my Master's in neurobiology and a career in medicine.

I would like to apply for this scholarship because of my financial situation. My family yearly income in less than $20,000. My mother does not have a job because she has back problems so she cannot work. My father does not live with my mother and I. My grandmother helps my mother financially support me and my brother. We can barely pay our house bills with the help of my grandmother and my father does not help us with our bills. It has been very hard for my mother to try to pay for our bills and also to pay for things I need for my senior year. This scholarship would help me get closer to my goal of being the first of my family to graduate college with a bachelor's degree and also help my mother not worry about how she going to help pay for my college education.

I am applying for this scholarship in order to purse my nursing degree. I am currently a full time student and work to support myself and my family. My goal is to become a Nurse, so I can survive my community through excellent healthcare practice. I know Nursing is the route for me because of my previous experiences that I have used as a stepping stone. I started off as A CNA then advance my education to become a Surgical Technologist. Through prior healthcare experience, I understand the high demand of Nurses needed in the growing population. This scholarship will allow me to achieve my dream in going to Nursing school. After becoming a Nurse, I would like to pave a way for other Nursing students by proving scholarship opportunities for them.

I am applying for this scholarship so I can finish pursuing my business degree with a concentration in accounting and second concentration in human resources. I have a roadblock right now. I am currently employed by a company which is paying for my college courses after the Pell Grant pays for what its paying for. The roadblock I have come to is I no longer have transportation to work so I am looking at having to give my notice. That means my funding will no longer be there. I am 55 years old and was really looking forward to getting my degree finally. I started my journey in 2009 but it was put on hold because I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I didn't know I could continue on my journey until I started working for this company and was approved to go back to school. I have an abundance of health issues and am on disability. I would really like to find a scholarship to aid in the funding of finishing my schooling so I can find my dream job. I have always done well in school and have always wanted to get a job in the accounting field. I have had a few jobs in accounting but I feel I could be more successful with more knowledge and training in that field. I am just dumbfounded now that I don't have transportation to get back and forth to work so I can continue on my journey.

I am applying for a scholarship so that I can keep pursuing my dreams of becoming a special needs teacher. I almost hesitated due to the fact that I am almost 40 and I have to work to finish raising my kids too. A scholarship just makes going to school easier and I am just grateful that I receive what I receive from financial aid.

I am applying for this scholarship because I would love to finish my undergrad degree in Psychology. I am currently enrolled at Walden University, and I have approximately 5 to 6 more classes left before I can receive my degree. My goal is to work with children and their families that are suffering with terminal illness such as cancer. It has been a dream and desire of my to visit such incredible place. Unfortunately, my funds rand out as I began to approach the finish line, I am in need of scholarships that will help me reach my goal and finish strong. Thank you.

Applying for this scholarship means a great deal to me. I have a full time job and are enrolling in college for Spring 2020 to get my Bachelor's degrees. I have two college students and another one graduating this upcoming May. My youngest will graduate high school on 2022. If I do not get my Bachelor's and get a raise at my job my youngest may not be able to go to college. So, I am in need of extra scholarships to finish my degree to help all of my four children succeed.

I am applying for this scholarship to pursue my dream of teaching in the poverty area of West Virginia. I was born and raised in West Va. I left for 45 years; worked in New York, Georgia and finally in North Carolina. I organized my own non-profit Foundation for Feeding Hungry Children, Org and it is my dream to teach and help mold the minds of this generation of young children. I still have fond memories of my elementary school teachers, and I would love to leave that legacy here for the children of the future.

Mohamad S  on 9/11/2019 9:36:14 PM

I’m so close to graduating my graduation date is May 2020. I didn’t receive enough aid to cover the fall semester or this upcoming spring . I live with my mom and my brother who has autism I just wanna graduate and make them proud but unfortunately I don’t think I can make that happen due to the balance my school said I owe.

Cierra N  on 9/11/2019 7:07:35 PM

If I were to be granted this money it would give the opportunity to finish my degree. I am expected to graduate with my Bachelors in Business Administration in 2020. However, I just found out that my FASFA will run out and I will need to come up with close to $6,000 out of pocket to finish. My husband and I both currently work full time and simply can not afford this extra cost. I am hoping to be granted this scholarship so that I can finish my degree and pursue a job in my career field.

Julita W  on 9/9/2019 11:42:05 AM

To be granted with the money will mean that I will be able to go to school and study in culinary arts and fulfill my dreams of owning my own restaurant one day, it means that I could spend less time stressing over the fact that I might not be able to even attempt at my dream because of financial struggles and spend more time practicing my techniques. In all this will mean less stress on me and on my mother who has to send 2 children to school while she is still trying to support another.

Jasmyn G  on 9/4/2019 10:16:48 PM

The money would allow me to send my daughter through school. I have always wanted my kids to achieve the best. She wants to become a Trauma nurse and I want to help her to that goal.

This opportunity will allow me to continue my studies at the University of Saint Francis. I am pursuing a double major in Nutrition and Exercise Science. With this, I intend to work as a Registered Dietician and stay involved with the world of athletics. I currently commute almost a half hour to school everyday, and my goal is to be able to live on campus without a pile of student loans. This scholarship would help me immensely!

I'm already eligible for the FSEOG`. There's no way to determine how much one will receive, until registered at your chosen institution of higher education. The Financial Aid office determines the amount dependent on your need. When I received the financial award from NJ HESAA besides the amount of the Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG), also told me on that award that I'm eligible for the FSEOG.

I am applying for this scholarship because I am in need of extra financial financial resources. I work part time and recently had to take in my oldest daughter because of financial problems due to her pregnancy and and recent hospitalization due to severe fibroid pain and not eating. I am in need of this scholarship also because of myself, some days I am off work due to my von wille brands disease and I have to miss work because of this from time to time during certain times. I would greatly be appreciative for any type of assistance to help finance my college career as i continue my education to pursue my bachelors degree. Thank you in advance

I am a upcoming college freshman in need of financial support. I am currently living with my single mother. My mother is disable and receives under $800 a month in government assistance. That adds up to be a little over $9000 a year. Based off of that income, I am afraid that I won’t be able to attend school and pursue a degree. Any type of aid is help. Thank you.

I had been diagnosed with a rare form of Multiple Sclerosis (Tumefactive MS); recently I had a seizure in April of 2019, early in the Strayer Summer Quarter. The stress of school is bad enough but, the aspect of not having the funding to complete this endeavor makes this worse, under my current circumstances.

I did apply apparently they think i make too much money to qualify for any grants with the government. Like so many people i am up to my eye balls in Student Loans and do not want any more. I am trying to get my bachelors degree and cant find any help

Fabiola S  on 7/6/2019 9:04:30 PM

I am a nurse student. I am sophomore, and I do not have money for my next year of my education. I work as a Nursing Assistant, and I am very far to make enough money to maintain my studies expenses. This is my second degree, and I do not have more financial aid. I also maximized my students loans. I am in desperate need, but hopefully that I will find the help that I need. I will finish my studies in Nursing school, and I will give back through my skills.

I want to show my kids that I can better myself as well as do my homework with my kids. I really need this scholarship so I can better not only myself but foe my kids as well whom I am doing this for. Thanks for the opportunity to listen to my story.

Like many of these comments, I'm applying for this because I work two part time jobs and I'm still struggling to afford school. I'm on my last year to graduate with my Bachelors, but the last year is proving to be the most costly. My FAFSA is maxed out, so everything is gonna be paid with loans and out of pocket. Any help would suffice! I'm almost to my goal and the financial burden is heavy.

I have $10,000 worth of Education that I have to pay for out-of-pocket right now or I am not allowed to graduate. I am applying for this loan because I am a young father who pays child support and cannot afford money to complete my degree. Currently, I only have 19 credits to get my Bachelors in Mass Communications, which would increase my pay and give me a chance to get a better job. At the time I dropped out of school in 2014, my father were gravely ill and died. My focus on school was meaningless, as I was mourning the death of my father. I only want to be the best father to my child, and the son my father would want me to be.

Desiree S  on 5/21/2019 6:35:00 PM

I am applying because i need more money to cover books, room and board, and food.

Genevieve H  on 5/17/2019 12:54:11 PM

I am applying because the Federal Loan fund will not be suffice to cover my tuition, books and boarding. It is really hard to find a job these days without some form of graduate education, and Virginia Commonwealth University is the institution that fits different careers that I am considering. Some students have a specific career in mind when applying for colleges, but many have little idea of the specific career they would like to pursue when graduated. Right now, I consider either a career in psychology or dentistry. To help me to make up my mind, I decide to double major in dental and psychology so that both options remain open. I hope that by deepening the two topics, I will understand what really interests me and where I can see myself in the future

Jenna H  on 5/9/2019 9:29:31 AM

I am applying because I am paying out of pocket for about 9,000 dollars of what will be not covered by grants. I am a single mother of two I work full time and am doing online school for my BSHA. I want to show my girls if you work hard you will have something to show for it.

I learned that my financial awards this time around isn't enough to cover my tuition or to pay for books and the things I need to complete my education. I am currently on medical disability and would like to finish my education so that I can return to the life I use to live and be self sufficient,

I was informed that my school must apply for this grant for me. What do I do if the school I attend will not assist me with any other grants or scholarships and do not provide not even one single scholarship for their out of state students or maybe it is just me that they will not help. I'm already almost done with my first semester and I'm praying that I only have one more left. It is overwhelming going to school where no one gives any form of student support.

I applied for this scholarship to pursue my dream career and no matter the case i will never give up on my dream job. I've seen how hard my parents struggle will bills because of education in mexico. The highest grade was 6th grade then after that just hard work. They came to the U.S. looking for a better life but it isn't easily but both of my parents are legal here in the U.S. So that made me realize that i want to get a good job and give my children what my parents struggled to give me.

Kasmere S  on 8/29/2018 8:52:26 PM

Hello, I have applied however the cost does not cover the full tuition. I am a single mother working full-time, minimum wage. I pay cash for everything and I would just like some funds so that I may graduate in the spring and get a career opportunity to help put my children through college also. It is sad this is my senior year for my bachelors degree and there is no one that can help guide me or give me the resources to continue my education. In the midst of the hardships that I have faced that seem insurmountable, I know its just another obstacle that I will soon overcome by keeping a positive attitude and the continuation to strive instead of survive my current situation.

Sherri H  on 6/22/2018 11:14:04 PM

I attended Everest University which was later changed to Alterius University last year. I was able to receive the FSEOG grant while I was there with no problems. With no warning, and to be completely honest, it was almost like the rug had been ripped out from under us as students; those of us that did qualify for this grant lost it because we were forced, not asked to change schools. Then, at the beginning of this year, 2018 I spoke to the financial advisor again myself, asking why I wasn't receiving this grant? My financial circumstances hadn't changed....She let me know that they were issued in July. I brushed that off again. Well, I know it's not July yet but you can see that others are being given their grants coming up in July....So, once again I called and questioned. This time I was told it was on a first time first term basis...I'm thinking to myself really....I just spoke to this lately in January....how much earlier could I have been? For the most part, I have no issues with this school. But, the financial aid section needs to be on the same page when it comes to what they are and are not giving out.....

Hi, My name is Eddiemarie Molina. I am a single mother living in Puerto Rico. I would like to live in this island but the economy is killing the medium and low class workers. I need to obtain a degree for me and to be an example for my kids. I tried going back to college but the availability of courses during the night is limited. Online courses are not available in the most accredited colleges. Everyday this opportunities disappear with the mass migration of Puerto Rico leaving he Island due to the economy struggle. I just need an opportunity to continue without getting too much in debt.

De'Ja G  on 5/14/2018 5:36:28 PM

In the 4th grade, I was considered your average 11-year-old. I loved Reading circle time, watching historical documentaries, and cookies. I had a huge crush on a family friend’s son, goofed around in class, and my friends and I aspired to be more like the Cheetah Girls. What made me so different you ask? My love for all things materials science. Now technically I didn't know what I was doing related to materials science until around 6th grade when I was first introduced to the branch but nonetheless, I loved it. I remember distinctly my first urge to innovate an oh-so-common substance in the classroom… white glue. That day our desks were arranged in a circle and I was luckily assigned next to my best friend at the time(who was also interested in mixing up different things to create another) so we obviously were off task. Bored with our teacher's assignment, we decided to trail off the path and see what we could make ourselves using craft items. Luckily I already had an idea brewing up as I attempted to remove the sticky black ink from a pen and possibly mix it in with some glue. Long story short I ended up staining my hands, my pants, and my teacher liked it so much she created a comparative lab for it. My burning interest in Materials science has always been present in my life for as long as I can recall. And if awarded this scholarship, my dream of majoring in my beloved subject will be that much closer to reach.

Hi, I filled out a fafsa after applying, and receiving acceptance, into Full Sail University's Digital Cinematography Bachelor's of Science online program. I was not eligible for the Federal Pell Grant, and I don't know if I was able to get the FSEOG. I have been out of school for 2 years and transferred to Full Sail with the hopes of completing my Bachelor's Degree. I have aspirations to get into the film industry; I've always wanted to be a filmmaker ever since I was a kid, and I feel studying at Full Sail will help me achieve my academic goals, however the tuition will be hard to cover on my own as I'm in a financial hardship due to my unemployment at the moment. I am currently searching for a new job before I start my classes at the end of May, but I would very much like to receive financial help via scholarships and not student loans. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi my name is Vicki Nelson and I have three children. I am looking at furthering my career. I have a 20 year old, 16 year old and a 5 year old. I was going to school about three years back and then my son decided to continue his career so I put mine on hold I am looking at finishing my career as a Special Ed teacher. Working with multi-handicap students is my dream. I have been currently working as an aide in a school with multi- handicap students for the past 10 years and I would really like to share with my fellow teachers and students what I have to help them. But in order to do that I need to finish my degree and as of right now I can't because of the financial burden. If there is any way I can get a grant to help me it would greatly be appreciated because I know I can make a difference. Thank you so much and god bless.

Destiny S  on 7/17/2016 9:34:33 PM

Hi, my name is Destiny Speller and I am applying for this scholarship because it will enable me to further my education at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am from a single parent home, I live with my mother, and it is becoming harder to pay for things such as my books because the tuition is rising sadly. My mom is working extremely hard in order for me to pursue my career goals. With my degree in biology, I plan to go back to graduate and medical school to further my education in which I have decided to go into the field of neuroscience. This field has many diseases and disorders that have no cure while others appear in the human body and doctors cannot figure out what causes them. These disorders include Parkinson disease, multiple sclerosis, autism, dementia, Alzheimer’s and many more. With my degree, I plan to go into the lab and do research on why these disorders and diseases occur, especially in a healthy human body. My goal is to not only be able to figure out the causes of the disease and disorder but also be able to cure it.

Amy S  on 6/7/2016 12:29:48 AM

Hi, My Name is Amy Savage. I am a mother of three. My oldest being in college herself at ODU and my youngest two are 11 and 12, watching their mom start a new life and going back to school. I have had a life changing experience. I spent 4 years in a federal prison and it changed my life, for the better. I spent my time in prison working on myself and training service dogs for our wounded warriors. I went through an extensive drug program called RDAP as well as took some college courses. I did not wast my time in prison, I used that time to change. I am showing my children what their mom is made of and that you can succeed no matter what you go through. I have maintained a high grade point average even though it has been 30 years since I have been to school and my children have raise their own grades through watching me. I am attending Ashford University online and and seeking an associates degree in behavioral science. I want to be a substance abuse counselor. I want to lend my strength and knowledge to other addicts to show them that it is possible to rise above addiction and succeed. I believe with my experiences and a degree I can make a difference in the lives of many addicts, regardless of their addiction. I was addicted to more than drugs, I was addicted to approval and love. I now love myself and my family, and God above all else. I really want and need help to achieve my dream to help others. Addiction has overrun our country for to long and taken to many of our children. It has wasted lives and killed careers. I know I can make a difference.

Dolores Torres 2/28/2016 3:28 PM Hello, my name is Dolores Torres, and I am a retired school secretary from the San Antonio Independent School District after serving 35 years. I am pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice Administration because I would like to make a difference in our criminal justice system that is abundantly growing with unethical, corruption, and racial issues. I feel our children today are the future tomorrow, and the way they are raised at home is the start of what their life is going to become. If discipline and respect is not instilled during the parenthood then there will be consequences and this is where crime begins.

I recently learned of the scholarship offered through your organization following a free college scholarship search I conducted at Scholarships.com. I am applying for this scholarship in hopes of furthering my education as a paralegal with emphasis in a real estate and brokers license. I have reviewed your scholarship award's description and eligibility requirements, and feel strongly that I would be an excellent candidate for this scholarship. The reason I feel I would be a good candidate is because I'm interested in knowing more about the award in hopes of furthering my education as a paralegal. I would like to request an application for your scholarship and any additional information available on the program to know more about the award itself. Right now I have a high balance for the classes I am taking and am paying out of pocket for my classes due to the fact that I have had 6 surgeries in 2 years and have outstanding medical bills that has been a huge burden on me limiting my ability to pay for classes needed to become successful in the law. Please send any relevant application materials to me. Thanks Jennifer

From the description above, I know I am eligible because of the situation I've been in for the past year. By me getting this Grant, it will literally change the present of my life and even my future.

I am applying for this scholarship because I want to continue my education, I want to be able to enroll in more classes at school. At the moment I am a full time mother of three children and full time medical assistant, and part time student at school. I am the one that has to pay all of the bills around the house I have mortgage that is due at the beginning of the month. I live paycheck after paycheck and I don't have that much to spend on groceries. I live off of cheap food and I am going to school to become something better in life and to teach my children that anything is possible. I want to be a great roll model for my children. l I would love to win this scholarship because it would give me the opportunity to enroll in more classes and be able to finish my collage degree sooner to begin my career. The sooner I can finish my community college credits the sooner I can enroll into my future career.

I am applying for this application because my fasfa is finished after this year. I have worked extremely hard to obtain a GPA of 3.4. I will only have 2 semester of nursing BSN after this semester, and I am looking forward to helping other people in the field of nursing. My parents have worked very hard assisting me as I have excelled in my college career. I was not the best student in high school, but I have realized my goals and have worked extremely hard to be this close to my dream. My dad works at four different hospitals, and my mother teaches a night college class after teaching 9 grade math during the day. All this to make sure I have an opportunity to complete my college career. Drew Piner

Kim's right in most stated SEOG is first come first served, so the faster you fill out FAFSA the better chance you have of getting that extra bit of money

Kimberly F  on 12/11/2009 9:05:19 PM

I've done a lot of research on financial aid and scholarships. To my knowledge, you don't directly apply for the Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grants. When you file your FAFSA, you're applying for all federally funded grants, such as Pell Grant, FSEOG, and in my state, Alabama Grants. Funds are limited and are pretty much first come first served. There's a March 1st priority date for filing your FAFSA and filing before the priority date would be everyone's best bet at trying to get the FSEOG, if it's available at your college.

Kali F  on 7/28/2009 7:25:17 PM

This isn't a loan and you can't get an application. You fill out the FASFA and the govt. chooses who qualifies based on your EFC (what you listed as your income). This GRANT is based on your Pell application. No one at scholarships.com has anything to do with giving you this grant. Again...it's not from your school or any other site you find, the government will let you know if you qualify.
