Applicants for the Elizabeth Carter Scholarship in Archaeology (only available in the Spring) are women enrolled at the advanced undergraduate (junior or senior) or postgraduate level in archaeology and have chosen archaeology as their profession. The stipend may be used for fieldwork, travel, or research. In order to apply, students must: currently be enrolled or accepted in Spring and planning to attend next Fall; and live and attend school in Los Angeles County.
Funding is distributed directly to the schools on the following school term. Funds are paid in full and are not fee specific. Students in their last term are not eligible to apply. The Student Aid Report is no longer required to demonstrate financial need. Financial need will be determined based on the student's essay. In addition to the application and essay, applicants must also submit transcripts (unofficial ones are also fine), enrollment verification and two recommendation letters (at least one must be academic).
