These comments show why scholarships like this are needed. Library science is an incredibly progressive and socially minded field that pushes for helping underserved communities. I'm not sure why the bigots are even looking into this field as they will soon find out that they are highly unwelcome here.

I am a student in the city of San Antonio and I am currently trying to get scholarships so I can get my pre med degree in Biology.

I am a high school student from the island of Saipan. As a large minority, away from the United States, without the right to vote, or a voice in society, I believe that I could provide a valuable perspective in the world.

Asma Rachid  on 11/30/2020 3:57:19 AM

Hello, i want to thank you for providing such help for all students.

I am a student at the University of Memphis. I am currently pursuing a degree in Accountancy with a minor in communications. In a city where the minority is the majority, there still are not many opportunities for minorities. Applying for this scholarship and receiving it would be very beneficial for me and the pursuit of my degree.

Denise B. Come to California. You'll see the "minorities' as the "majority". Caucasians are a "minority' out here.

Deko Ali  on 1/13/2020 1:16:37 PM

Just as you have the right to expect not to be bullied because of your race or colour, so it is your responsibility never to treat anyone else badly because of their race or colour.

Nina H  on 1/12/2020 7:59:06 PM

I think its just evening the playing field guys... as of right now about 70% of America is caucasian....while the rest are minority groups... and in those minority groups there are way fewer succeeding people compared to the people in power (caucasian people)

ron p  on 1/7/2020 2:45:09 PM

Wow this comment is racist. All i see is racism and can we all just respect each other and stop the race card

Denise B  on 6/26/2019 7:51:56 PM

I have worked in many libraries and I have yet to see one where minorities are a majority.

Ro W  on 12/13/2018 3:33:22 PM

Keep it up...the voices of "white privilege" shall always see the harm in something that is done to uplift another race, ethnicity, or culture if they cannot gain something for themselves in the endgame. It is not enough that throughout history "caucasians" have and continue to make gains regardless of who is affected. So now that other minorities are taking a stand or simply just trying to get their piece of the American Dream it is constantly demonized as reverse racism or just simple discrimination of which they have mastered the art as far as America is concerned. I'm just saying.....

Amanda M  on 11/15/2015 2:07:54 PM

For ethnicities other than my own.

Deion S  on 10/9/2015 1:50:21 PM

preach antianna

antianna t  on 10/7/2015 11:39:29 AM

these comments make me laugh because they come from ignorance. Its expected for Caucasians to go to college and have easier access to money they are the majority of the population here in America. Caucasians are privileged in America. The minorities in America do not get the same resources or abilities that Caucasians do. That is why there are scholarships like this. So please don't complain about being white in this white America. Thank you.

Dylan D  on 10/4/2015 9:48:22 PM

And if they made a scholarship for Caucasians only it would be hateful and racist, but its ok if they do it for every other race.

Mary W  on 10/2/2015 9:30:21 AM

Why are so many scholarships offered to everyone BUT caucasians? I have college to pay for too.

Cry N  on 9/27/2015 9:30:41 PM

This scholarship discriminates against caucasian individuals.
