To be eligible for the Charles Shelton Veterinarian Medicine/Technology Scholarship, applicants must: have a minimum 3.0 GPA and provide an official copy of your transcript in a sealed envelope; be an African-American graduating HS senior, current college student or returning college student; be a US citizen or permanent resident; and be a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
In addition to completing the scholarship, applicants must also: provide two professional references that speak directly to your experience in veterinary medicine or technology; submit proof of full-time enrollment in a college or university; a resume (include achievements, honors, community service and school involvement); and a short essay answering a given question. Once the scholarship recipients have enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education and submitted proof of enrollment to the sponsor, the scholarships will be awarded in the form of a check made payable to the institution attended by the scholarship recipient.
