• i4Kids and Dean Anantha Shekhar are pleased to offer $1000 scholarship awards to all Pitt medical students interested in pediatrics. Desiring to promote increased diversity in pediatric medicine and recognizing the extraordinary achievements of trailblazing students, we are especially interested in supporting students who are first-generation college graduates (defined at the bottom of the page). Those who are not first-generation but have demonstrated financial need are still welcome to apply.

  Applicants must be Pitt medical students with an interest in pediatrics and demonstrated financial need. Priority is given to first-generation college students; those who are not first-generation but have demonstrated financial need are still welcome to apply. This award is intended to address the additional financial burden of USMLE exam and test preparation fees, but the scholarship money has no restrictions and may be used as needed by the student.
