Scholarship Description

The Imagine Cup Games Competition is a global contest for the best new student games and the winning team will take home $50,000 (US). Create a desktop or tablet game using Windows, or a mobile game using Windows Phone, or a browser game using Windows Azure and you could win big at the Imagine Cup World Finals in Seattle.

Many of our competitions are intended for teams, so you may also need to create a team to participate. If a competition requires a team, you'll be able to pick your team right on the Submission page. If you don't have a team yet, you can create one in just a few moments - you just need a team name and team country, and you're ready to go.

This competition is intended for a team of experienced coders. As part of this competition, you'll submit a complete piece of software, usable by our judges, as well as supporting documentation.

A team is up to four eligible students. In addition to your team, other people are allowed to help you. You can have a mentor, such as a faculty member, who advises you on your project. You can also have associates, who must be eligible students, that can help you with things including business model planning, marketing, music or sound effects creation, and so on.

Unless otherwise indicated in the specific Competition Rules, you are eligible to enter if you meet the following requirements at the time of entry: -You are at least 16 years of age as of last July and are actively enrolled as a student at an accredited high-school or college/university (including home schools) -You are NOT a resident of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, or Syria -You are not an employee or intern of Microsoft Corporation, or an employee of a Microsoft subsidiary, at any time between January and July of the competition year -You are not involved in any part of the execution or administration of this Competition -You are not an immediate family member of (parent, sibling, spouse/domestic partner, child) or household member of a Microsoft employee, an employee of a Microsoft subsidiary, or a person involved in any part of the administration and execution of this competition between January and July of the competition year
