The UTM Noyce Scholars Program is funded by the National Science Foundation and seeks to increase the number of mathematics and science teachers in Tennessee. Individuals with bachelor’s degrees in mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, geoscience, or engineering may apply for a stipend for one year to assist with tuition, fees and other costs associated with graduate school. College seniors in these majors are also welcome to apply. Noyce Scholars will earn a master’s degree and become licensed teachers. They will commit to teaching for two years in a school in a high-need LEA. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
