The Baccalaureate Scholarship provides up to $22,500 in financial aid support and access to career-launching support services for students pursuing high-demand STEM and health care majors. This scholarship can be used to cover tuition, fees and other indirect costs of attendance such as housing, transportation, food and more. Funding can be used for any eligible STEM or health care degree at any eligible public or private college or university in Washington state. Applications run from the beginning of January until the due date.
Scholarship Details

Eligibility Requirements
- Residency: Must be a Washington resident; undocumented applicants are also eligible
- Financial Need:
- Family income must not exceed 125% of Washington state median family income
- Dependent students must report family income; independent students report their own income
- Must complete FAFSA or WASFA
- Education Plan:
- Plan to enroll in an eligible STEM or health care major
- Plan to take at least three credits every fall, winter, and spring terms
- Previous Education:
- Have not earned a bachelor’s degree
- Earned or will earn a high school credential in Washington by June of the application year
- Minimum 2.75 GPA or passing GED score
- No more than 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits unless earned through Running Start or dual credit programs
Application Process
- Confirm your eligibility based on the residency, financial need, education plan, and previous education criteria
- Complete the WSOS scholarship application
- Submit the FAFSA or WASFA as early as possible to account for processing delays
