The Carl A. Scott Memorial Fund was developed to continue the legacy of equity and social justice in social work through building knowledge and furthering the well-being of individuals and their communities. These were the goals to which Scott devoted his life's work. Two book scholarships in the amount of $500 each are awarded each academic year to students who demonstrate a commitment to work for racial, economic, and environmental justice in social work.
Applicants must be graduating with a social work degree from a bachelor or master’s degree program accredited by CSWE, have an expected graduation date no later than summer of the year the scholarship is offered, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, be enrolled full time during the period in which the grant is awarded, and have a demonstrated commitment to promoting equity and social justice.
