Scholarship Description

If you are a graduate student looking for the ideal setting to conduct your thesis research, or if you’re a master’s student preparing to pursue your doctorate, a graduate-level STEM internship or fellowship position can open doors for advanced studies. If you are looking for a short-term experience like a summer internship, ORISE has a diverse collection of opportunities in a variety of research areas. If a STEM internship or fellowship opportunity during the academic year is more ideal, there are also a number of positions with immediate availability for students who have already earned their bachelor's degree and are currently pursuing advanced degrees.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) realizes that the country’s strong science and technology community provides a critical advantage in the development and implementation of counter-terrorist measures and other DHS objectives. The DHS Scholarship and Fellowship Program is intended for students interested in pursuing the basic science and technology innovations that can be applied to the DHS mission. This education program is intended to ensure a diverse and highly talented science and technology community to achieve the DHS mission and objectives. Areas of study that are eligible include: physical sciences, mathematical sciences, computer and information sciences, life sciences, social sciences, psychology, and engineering. Dollar amounts and due dates may vary.
