The Randall/LaRossa College Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 to honor Peter Randall, MD and Don LaRossa, MD for their work to enhance the quality of life for individuals affected by cleft lip/palate and other craniofacial conditions. The fund was developed by friends and colleagues of Dr. Randall and Dr. LaRossa in appreciation of their mentorship, friendship, and dedication to serving children. Award recipients are selected by the ACPA Family Resources Committee based on past academic performance, evidence of leadership and/or community and school involvement, indications of future academic success and the applicant essay. Scholarship funding will be sent to the recipients’ respective college institution prior to the upcoming fall semester.
To be eligible for any of ACPA’s Randall/LaRossa College Scholarships, a student must: have a diagnosis of cleft lip and/or cleft palate or other congenital craniofacial difference; not have received a college scholarship from ACPA or the Cleft Palate Foundation in the past; and be enrolled full-time in an accredited post-secondary institution or program in the United States during the year of the award. Preference is given to rising first-year students in any field and to currently-enrolled students in a field of study related to cleft or craniofacial conditions, though any major is accepted. The scholarships differ based on GPA requirements, so eligible applicants should have at least a 2.5 GPA.
