The 5Rivers Scholarship Program provides financial support to Sikh students who are motivated to pursue higher education opportunities but lack the financial resources to get there. The 5Rivers Scholarship Program works with a network of Sikh community organizations to identify candidates and provide additional support and resources to ensure the award recipients have ongoing academic, spiritual and personal support, as well as opportunities to deepen their connections within and beyond their community.
To be eligible for the 5Rivers Foundation Scholarship, applicants must: be a believer of the Sikh religion; be a United States citizen or person that has the requisite legal status for living in or attending school in the United States; have a minimum grade point average of at least a 2.5; and have a total annual family income no higher than $75,000. Awards are paid directly to the educational institutions and will require such institutions to return those funds, if a scholarship recipient fails to enroll or drops out of the institution's program.
