The mission of the Coastal Community Foundation is to enhance the quality of life in North San Diego County by directing philanthropic efforts toward community needs. Started in 1987, around a small table wedged into a tiny office at the Community Resource Center in Encinitas, a handful of citizens had an idea: they wanted to create a way to support social service, education and environmental issues and more in an area undergoing extraordinary change.
The majority of scholarships are available for graduating seniors only from San Diego, Carlsbad and Oceanside school districts. All scholarships are awarded no later than December in the year the award is made. Scholarship award letters are presented at your school’s awards ceremony or you will be notified by letter. Scholarship recipients will receive instructions in their award letter. The scholarship check is issued when the Foundation receives information from you verifying your college enrollment and class schedule. Applicants should have at least a 2.0 GPA.
