In 1939, fifteen educators pooled together all their money – just $78.75 – to start a credit union for teachers. To honor the legacy of our founding, we offer the Desert Financial Foundation Adult Learners Scholarship to members ages 25 or older.
Scholarship Details
- Award amount: $3,000 each to 30 recipients
- Funds disbursed directly to an Arizona-based college, university, or certification program
- Designed to support adult learners aged 25 or older
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be 25 years of age or older
- Must be a Desert Financial member in good standing
- Enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited institution in Arizona
- Demonstrated financial need based on FAFSA's EFC
- Commitment to achieving education goals as described in an essay
Application Process
- Complete the online application in one sitting
- Application reviewed by the Desert Financial Foundation’s Scholarship Committee
- Notification of award via email in April
In 2024, 30 applicants will be selected to receive $3,000 each in scholarship funds, to be distributed directly to the Arizona-based college, university or professional certification program of their choice.
